I have come to realize that there seems to be specific rules guiding every aspect of human existence, I have even seen books written on rules of almost everything that exists – Rules of Money, Rules of Work, Rules of People, Rules of Relationships, perhaps one day we will see Rules of Death and one may not die if those rules are NOT followed ( I am certain everyone will intentionally break those rules). I have pondered over these rules and can’t help but ask if these rules truly work, what happens if they are broken, for the avoidance of equivocation, I will use “principles and rules” interchangeably to match whatever context you may want to view my points.
Let’s see if some examples of these rules would help: –
- If you want to make good grades in school, you must study hard.
- If you want to be rich in life, you must work hard.
Now, lets see if the examples given above perfectly fit into the rules / principles of life mentioned above.
RULE 1- If you want to make good grades in school, you must study hard: The fact remains that you will achieve nothing if you study materials that are irrelevant to your course of study. The second fact is that you will gain no traction if you don’t have retentive memory (We can go on and on)
RULE 2- If you want to be rich in life, you must work hard: How many millionaires have been made from truck pushing and other hard labor? (Now don’t get me wrong here because I am also an ardent believer in the dignity of labor). The point I am trying to make here is that if you don’t work smart you may not achieve your full potentials, which brings me to my main question:
Do stones skip? OR can stones skip?
Every human being is like a stone in its natural form and would not skip on the surface of the water unless some certain principles or rules are applied.
If you throw a stone on the surface of the water, it quickly sinks (Never to rise again) but when you apply the principle or rule of bending your arm and your body either towards the right or the left (Depending on the hand you are comfortable with ) you would notice that the stone will skip maybe just once and after series of practice, you can get as many as 5 skips. Now, notice here that the stone never changed but the technique adopted by the handler did.
You only need to change your technique to succeed, you need to believe in yourself, you need to mind your mind and take control of your thoughts.!!!
It all begins and ends in the mind. CAN YOU SKIP?
